The pool is definitely geared toward a younger party crowd.īut even if you’re not into the party scene, weekdays at the GO pool can be pretty chill. So if a good pool is a priority for your Vegas vacation, staying at the Flamingo is a no brainer. The pool at the Flamingo is one of the best in all of Las Vegas. They play good music and seems to attract a younger crowd, I’d say a mix of people in their 20, 30s and 40s. The vibe at the Planet Hollywood casino is really fun. So if a stuffy, smoky casino bothers you, choose the Flamingo. Since it opens up onto the Strip, it gets lots of fresh air. What I like about the casino at the Flamingo Hotel is that you can immediately walk onto the casino floor from the sidewalk, so it gets a lot of action from people walking by. The vibe is casual but can get pretty rowdy at night with lots of loud music. The casino at the Flamingo isn’t huge, but it’s always lively and bustling. I prefer the more centralized location and being that much closer toward Fremont Street (downtown Las Vegas). ![]() If I was choosing one of these two hotels based on location alone, I would choose the Flamingo Hotel. Here you can visit Paris, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria, MGM, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. If you prefer to be in the center Strip with quicker access to the south Strip hotels, Planet Hollywood is the best choice. If you’re planning to spend a lot of time at Caesars Palace and/or the Bellagio, the Flamingo hotel is the better option location-wise. So if you want to explore more of Caesars Palace, the Linq, the Venetian, the Mirage, Treasure Island, the Strat and Resorts World, choose Flamingo. That being said, if you stay at the Flamingo, you’ll be in the center of the Strip with quicker access to the north part of the Strip. It’s only about a 5 – 7 minute walk between the two. So as far as location goes, you really can’t go wrong with either one. Which Hotel has the Better Location? The pedestrian walkway between Flamingo and Caesars Palaceīoth the Planet Hollywood and Flamingo hotels are considered somewhere in the center of the Strip. Planet Hollywood’s resort fees are $45.95 per night. Resort Feesįlamingo has some one of the cheapest resort fees on the strip at $39.95 per night. If you want a nice and modern feeling mid-range hotel in Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood is a clear winner. ![]() The most basic rooms at Planet Hollywood are quite spacious in comparison, coming in at about 430 square feet. The overall feel at Planet Hollywood just seems a little more fresh. It’s one of the first hotels built on the Strip and they’re starting to bring back the vintage mob-era theme.Īt Planet Hollywood, things are a little more expensive (nothing crazy though) and better maintained and well kept. Plus, I do enjoy the ‘old Vegas’ feel that still lingers at the Flamingo. I only spend a short period of time in the rooms so the rooms and the aesthetic doesn’t really bother me. It’s cheap, is in a great location and has a fabulous pool. You’ll find some people describe the Flamingo as a dump.Īnd if you’re expecting a shiny and fancy hotel you’ll be thoroughly disappointed. This hotel is starting to show its age though, so if some dated carpet and rooms don’t interest you, I would choose Planet Hollywood. But even the cheap rooms that face the pool are still very nice.
